Welcome to Willis House Inn.

Don and Sherry are owners and operators of this lovely property.

Located just on the edge of Willis, MI.

Don fell in love with the house the first time he saw it. I, grew up just down the road, and have always admired the house as well. The opportunity presented itself and we bought what is now know as the Willis House Inn. I’ve always thought a B & B would be a fun and, wonderful adventure. Needless to say,6000 sq ft of house is more then 2 people and 2 pooches need. So it fit perfectly into a life long dream of creating a B & B

The house has had a rich and varied history. It is believed to be the oldest house in Willis. It was owned for many decades by the Martz family that owned the Detroit Brewery, who then gave it to the Catholic Church. A short time later it was sold, and became an adult foster care, and then a home for people with closed head injuries. At the time we bought it, it had been vacant for over 7 years, It was totally gutted, and it a terrible state of disrepair.
We were quite surprised when we heard stories from neighbors that the house was haunted. We were open minded about the whole thing and soon found out that it indeed is. We have researched and collected many stories about the house and the people that have lived here. Now that we have owned the house for several years, we have our own stories to tell, and we are love sharing the stories with the people who come to visit.

We are looking forward to meeting you, and sharing our home with you. Weather you are interested in an evening of investigating the spirits that still lingering here with our dear friends of Marter Paranormal, or if you wish to stay one or more nights and enjoy the personality of our 1850’s home.

This is an interesting house, built in three stages. We believe the main house was built in 1856, with an addition that was use for most of the house’s history as a kitchen, that was added in 1872, foundly refered to as the “ghost room” as this is were the first image of spirits was captured unintentionally by our mason, taking a picture of her work as she repaired a huge hole in the stone wall. The most recent addition to the house was added in 1968,

We have gone to great effort to return the main house to it’s original state. One of the many renovations is the main floor bath complete with a copper claw foot tub for you soaking enjoyment. The newer part of the house we’ve taken more liberty with, making it more modern, comfortable and interesting, including a huge modern kitchen, We’d love to have you join us as we gather around the 10′ granite kitchen island and have a delicious hot breakfast . Or maybe a snack and good conversations about the evenings paranormal investigation..

Sit in front of one of our 2 fireplaces on a chilly evening, or take a walk in our ever expanding orchard. Hungry, Bone Heads BBQ is within walking distance or just a short jaunt up the street and we have several pizzarias that deliver. Hamburger Hill, as my daughter calls it, has several fast food restaurants is a short 10 min drive. Have a hangering for smore’s ? Bon fires are a regular event, weather permiting.

Located 20 mins from Detroit metro, 20 mins from Ann Arbor and about 35 mins from Detroit, we are conviently located to many other attractions and shopping.

We love company and are looking forward to meeting you!
